Come out to MIS this Friday night for Pepsi Night with all five weekly divisions back in action. Make it a goal to bring out some new fans for a night of exciting racing action and good family fun.

Rain, Rain...

Last Friday's Swiss Colony Night was rained out. The decision to make the call was made in the morning when already saturated grounds and the prediction for additional rain combined for a less than favorable forecast for racing.

The early call allows us to notify everyone well in advance. It is never an easy decision to make, but nonetheless, one that has to be made.

ASA Educational Series Awards Night

The awards night for students receiving scholarships to Ohio Technical College in Cleveland, Ohio, is set for Friday, August 6th at Madison International Speedway.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Jim Back who passed away last week. Jim was the first track champion on the half-mile at MIS back in 1969 and had returned for an Old Timer's Night at MIS a few years ago.

Congratulations to Friday night feature winners Scott Broughton (Rockweiler Insulation Late Models), Bobby Wilberg (Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman), Don Fassett (Club La Mark Hobby Stocks), Andy Jones (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends), and Lee Haag (Roto Rooter Bandits).

The races on the "Ring of Fire" were very exciting with Andy Jones edging Max McNamara in the Legends and Lee Haag working his way through heavy traffic to claim the Bandit victory. Though small in number, the Hobby Stocks put on a great show in their 12 lap feature.

Complete race reports are available on our website.

It was a perfect summer night for racing at Madison International Speedway tonight and the fans witnessed some of the most exciting on track action of the season as part of Ho Chunk Gaming Night. Five drivers would go home with wins as Scott Broughton (Late Models), Bobby Wilberg (Area Sportsman), Don Fassett (Hobby Stocks), Lee Haag (Bandits) and Andy Jones (Legends) picked up wins.

Congratulations to last week's feature winners: Ryan Goldade (Rockweiler Insulation Late Models), Bobby Wilberg (Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman), Todd Ambrose (Club LaMark Hobby Stocks), Max McNamara (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends), and Kyle Padfield (Roto Rooter Bandits).

A complete race report is available on our website at http://www.madisoninternationalspeedway.com.

Late Models: Ryan Goldade won his first feature of the 2010 season. Crew chiefing for Ryan this year is Jason Tyler, who is no stranger to racing at MIS. Jason began racing here back in the Midwest Truck Series. Great to see veteran Russ Grossen at the track on Friday.

It was a very tough night for both Brady Liddle and Tyler Kelley whose cars made heavy contact with the wall in turn one. For Liddle, it was the second car he had driven after taking his black #18 home earlier in the night.

Jeremy Miller leads the point race with 505 followed by Bobby Wilberg at 453 and Scott Broughton at 429. It's been a wild ride in the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models this year so this point race will likely come down to the double feature on the final night of the season.

Area Sportsman: This was a great four car battle between Bobby Wilberg, Mike Taylor, Stephen Scheel, and Robert Hansberry. Eight cars took the green flag and we're hoping to reach the ten car mark before season's end. Wilberg leads the points with 595 followed by Scheel at 529 and Taylor at 481. With a small field, one missed night at the track can turn things around quickly.

Ryan Goldade piloted his #39 late model to victory lane in the 40 lap feature for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models on Miller NIte at Madison International Speedway, an ASA member track. Bobby Wilberg won again in the Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman while Todd Ambrose (Club LaMark Hobby Stocks), Kyle Padfield (Roto Rooter Bandits), and Max McNamara (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends) also were winners.

Goldade Races His Way to Victory Lane

Ryan Goldade won his first feature of the 2010 season in the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models.

The twenty-two car field saw Chad Stevens and Johnny Baumeister Jr. showing the way to the green flag. Stevens would gain the early advantage before the first caution flag came out on the second lap for an incident in turn three that resulted in the car of Bobby Wilberg going up into the wall and back to the pits for some minor repairs.

After a failed restart that saw three wide action on the backstretch, the field tried again to restart the race. This time Stevens would continue his lead but only for a few laps as Goldade would work his way to the inside of the leader on the inside coming out of turn four on lap 5 and take over the point with Jeremy Miller right behind him in second.

Goldade and Miller would lead the way followed by Baumeister Jr., Stevens, and Zach Riddle. On lap 26 Riddle would move past Stevens for fourth as out front Goldade increased his lead to two car lengths over Miller. The leaders would need to work their way through lapped traffic on lap 30 and all were able to survive.
